Overview

The 2005 Back Cove 26 is a masterclass in downsizing without compromise, offering the perfect blend of traditional Down East elegance and modern, low-maintenance engineering. Born from the same Maine heritage as Sabre Yachts, this pocket cruiser turns heads in every harbor with its spoon bow, gently sloping transom, and classic flag blue hull. It is the ultimate day boat and weekend pocket cruiser for those who appreciate timeless style and practical performance.

Step aboard, and you are greeted by an incredibly thoughtful layout that maximizes every inch of its 26-foot frame. The oversized cockpit is designed for socializing, featuring comfortable seating and an open arrangement that keeps you connected to the water. Moving forward, the elevated helm deck offers exceptional, 360-degree visibility and protection from the elements, ensuring a confident and comfortable ride whether you are navigating a tight marina or bracing against a morning chop.

Beneath the deck lies a dependable, single electronically controlled Yanmar diesel, paired with a traditional shaft drive. This setup delivers an exceptionally stable, economical, and efficient 18 kt cruise with a top speed of 22 knots. Thanks to its bow thruster, maneuvering in tight quarters or docking in a stiff crosswind is completely stress-free, making it an ideal choice for solo captains and seasoned couples alike.

Below decks, the cabin is surprisingly bright, airy, and inviting, finished with Back Cove’s signature American cherry trim. The convertible V-berth offers a generous sleeping area for weekend getaways, complemented by a fully equipped galley with a refrigerator, sink, and microwave. A proper, enclosed head with a holding tank adds a level of comfort rarely found in a boat of this size.

The 2005 Back Cove 26 is an invitation to effortless coastal cruising, offering yacht-caliber craftsmanship in a manageable, elegant package.
