Propulsion & Handling

Power comes from twin Volvo Penta D2 60 HP diesels with approximately 2100 hours. Flexifold propellers with line cutters are fitted, and diesel capacity is 248 gallons.

The Saona 47's weight-to-volume ratio gives it a cruising speed of 8+ knots and easy handling, which suits experienced sailors and owners new to multihulls alike.

Electronics and Navigation

Navigation is built around dual Garmin 8612 chartplotters, supported by radar and forward-view sonar. An autopilot is also installed.

Electric and Comfort Systems

The house bank is 1890 amp-hours of Lithionics lithium batteries, charged by 2460 watts of solar on a custom arch and a 13.5 kW Onan generator. Dual Victron inverters can run all onboard electrical devices, and the Victron setup is configured for both US and European systems.

Six A/C units, electric heads, and a watermaker cover comfort and independence. Fresh water capacity is 185 gallons.

Galley, Salon, and Accommodations

In the three-cabin Maestro layout, the owner's suite takes the entire port hull. It has a walk-in shower, custom cabinetry, blackout curtains, and an upgraded Casper memory foam mattress.

The layout maximizes both interior and exterior living areas while keeping the balanced hull design that defines the Saona 47.

Deck and Cockpit

Custom, high-quality enclosures are fitted for both the helm and the cockpit.

The 2023 Highfield CL360 hypalon dinghy has a center console and a Yamaha 30HP outboard with fewer than 100 hours. It also has its own Garmin chartplotter and depth finder.

Sailplan

Happy Here is rigged for getting everything out of te sails. A heavily reinforced bowsprit with rigging gear carries a North Sails custom gennaker for downwind work and a North Sails custom Code 55 screecher.

A Karver continuous furler and electric winches simplify handling, and new sails and stays were installed in 2025.
